I'm not a fanatical birdwatcher, but I enjoy observing (and photographing) birds if they are around. Thailand is home to many birds, both resident and migrant varieties. In the same way that humans from cold countries show up in Thailand during the cold winter months, so do birds.
Below is information regarding the species of bird, and also technical photography stuff for those who are interested in such things.
If I've mis-identified a bird (which is highly likely), please let me know. If I get enough photos I will start to categorise them, but for the moment they are just on one page.
The quality of some images may not be very good but I've included them on the basis that a bad image is better than no image at all. If I get better photos, I will replace the poor ones.

I started off with two simple books, one in English and one in Thai. The English one is titled: A Photographic Guide to Birds of Thailand by Michael Webster and Chew Yen Fook. They're OK but the information is basic and I had problems identifying juveniles.
I then bought Birds of Thailand by Craig Robson. This is a wonderful field guide and its value far outweighs the Bt695 purchase price that I paid for it in Thailand.
The information is a lot more detailed and the plates are superb, with illustrations for adult birds, juveniles, and adults in breeding plumage. If you have this book, I can't imagine that you would need any more.
It covers all species recorded in Thailand up to mid-February 2001, and therefore it is quite comprehensive.
Being located in the provinces, I haven't yet been able to lay my hands on anything by Philip Round. His work on Thai birds appears to be the reference to which all other authors work to.
